She smirked at Lilly, admiring her joke. “But.. I mean he hasn’t really done anything wrong.. So what should I say?”
“Well, he knows you miss him. Because I heard him talking about you with James yesterday. So… Just act normally. As if nothing’s wrong. Just ask to hang out. Y’know?”
“Yeah.. Good.” She said as the walked back towards to the castle.
She waited a second or two then stood up. “Now.” She said determinedly and started to walk away. “But what should I say?”
“Wait for me!” Lily yelled, gathering her books quickly and running after Mary. Once she’d caught up, she shifted her books around and pushed her…
She smirked at Lilly, admiring her joke. “But.. I mean he hasn’t really done anything wrong.. So what should I say?”
“Well, yeah..” She mumbled, as though perfectly obvious.
Lily reached over, and flicked Mary hard on her head. “You’re a brilliant witch, but you’re really crap when it comes to boys….

“Well.. Maybe I should go and talk to him.” She said in a questioning voice, as though Lily had the deciding opinion on the matter.Mary turned to Lilly and smiled. “You really think so?”“Well, yeah..” She mumbled, as though perfectly obvious.
Lily reached over, and flicked Mary hard on her head. “You’re a brilliant witch, but you’re really crap when it comes to boys. He’s mad about you!”
Lily sighed. “Do you want to be flicked again? YES!”

Mary sat down at one of the long tables of the great hall, and poured some orange juice into her glass. She looked around, hoping to find Lilly. It was unlike Mary to be early for breakfast, she was usually the last one to emerge out of the girls dornetory each morning.
Mary turned to Lilly and smiled. “You really think so?”“Well, yeah..” She mumbled, as though perfectly obvious.
Lily reached over, and flicked Mary hard on her head. “You’re a brilliant witch, but you’re really crap when it comes to boys. He’s mad about you!”
Mary lay down on the grass beside her, and looked up into the clouds. She was unsure what to say. She feelt no need in deniying the fact she liked Sirius, as it was now perfectly obvious. Yet she could not see that Sirius liking her. But she decided not to mention this to Lilly.
“You doubt he likes you, do you?” From the expression on Mary’s face, Lily knew she knew her best friend all to well.
“Well, yeah..” She mumbled, as though perfectly obvious.
”Well it doesn’t matter now. He was never intrested in me anyway.” She said with a fake laugh, trying to hide ho she felt.
Lily rolled her eyes and laid down on the grass, a gentle breeze making her brilliant red locks float gracefully around her face. “Whatever, McDonald. He likes you, and you like him. Don’t deny it. And stop fake laughing. I doesn’t fool me.”

Mary smiled at her, although her smile was slightly weak. She was grateful to have a friend like Lily, who cared so much about her. But she didn’t one Lily to get involved. Not because she didn’t want Lily to have anything to do with her and Sirius’ relationship, but that she…
